FACTS

Pine Forest Camp, located in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, is one of the oldest, private overnight camps in the country that is still owned and operated by its founding family. The camp has been the summer home of three generations of campers from communities across the United States and the world.

It is a full season resident camp for girls and boys who enjoy a wide range of activities. With expert staff and outstanding supervision the emphasis is on fun. The camp was founded in 1931 by Hughie Black, a professional basketball player and teacher. Today, the camp receives many national awards. It was selected as one of the top camps in America by Changing Times Magazine and Child magazine and Organization of the Year by The United States Tennis Association (U.S.T.A.). Most recently it was chosen as the national Family Business of the Year.

Our Philosophy
Above all, our camp represents a place where a child strives primarily for self-satisfaction rather than for reward. A child begins to come to terms with himself as an individual, adjusting his or her own expectations and abilities rather than meeting those imposed by grown-ups. The camp is a child-oriented world, totally different from the adult-oriented world from which he or she comes. Camp should be fun.
